Connecting Forestry to People...
State and Private Forestry Organization for Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands links the forestry and conservation with people from the inner city to the rural countryside. We connect people to resources, ideas and to one another so we can all care for the forests and sustain our communities. Through voluntary collaborative approaches, we promote the stewardship of the Commonwealth/Territorial forests on federal, State, Community, and Private Lands.
State and Private Forestry manages grants involving cooperators' private, state, and federal funds. This program focuses on technical assistance, technology transfer, and training. The Programs in Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands are as follows:
