Ecosystem Dynamics

The Ecosystem Dynamics Research Program is designed to improve knowledge and predictive methods to understand the internal ecosystem dynamics and external influences of tropical landscapes. We study ecosystem processes from the plot to the watershed scale and investigate the biogeochemical mechanisms that affect processes and functions at higher scales. Much of this research is focused on the impacts and recovery of ecosystem processes and structure following natural and anthropogenic disturbances such as hurricanes, drought, fire, and development on above and belowground ecosystems.
