"Patterns of land stewardship and conservation in Puerto Rico", Caryl Alarcón, Puerto Rico Gap Analysis Project, Land Stewardship Coordinator, International Institute of Tropical Forestry.
Talk summary: A presentation of information on who are the major land managers in Puerto Rico with conservation objectives, where are the management areas, and what are the conservation objectives and threats.
The conference room opens at 3:30, talks begin promptly at 4 pm. Lively discussion follows each presentation.
The seminar series is designed to provide a forum for scientists and students to present and discuss current research topics in ecology. The seminars take place one Thursday each month from 4 to 5 p.m. in the International Institute of Tropical Forestry (IITF) conference room. Everyone is welcome. We are located on the grounds of the Botanical Garden in Río Piedras. For directions call 787-766-5335.
